Learn to love yourself through commitment, reflection, intention, and practice.
Self-love can be hard and we all have our inner critics. You deserve your own time and attention. You can start to make the commitment to reflect, build intention, and practice what it takes to show yourself some good love.
Self-love is place you come to in yourself that knows on the deepest level that you are enough, no matter what.
Self-love proclaims:
- My history doesn’t define me.
- Other people’s opinions don’t shake me.
- I can trust myself.
- I will not betray or abandon myself.
- I will do every thing possible to nourish my own hearts and spirits because that’s the very best I deserve from myself.
Self-love is:
- Becoming who you most are at your authentic, purest core, unapologetically.
- A willingness to say when you’re wrong.
- A desire to continue to learn, grow, and transform.
- Risk-taking in the face of fear.
- Opening yourself to intimacy in relationships
- Being vulnerable and expressing shame.
- Self-love is fearless.
To cultivate more self-love:
- Tune in and look inward.
- Stay committed, patient, and persistent.
- Compassionately confront your need to heal.
- Find support! Therapy, yoga, classes, webinars, blog posts, church, sanghas, wherever!
- Develop systems of change: use what you learn outside in the world and in your relationships. Embody the learning.
- Actual practices: move your body, meditate, practice self-compassionate speech, seek out content/people/experiences that uplift you.
May we all always offer ourselves the unconditional love we will ALWAYS be deserving of, no matter what.
