The mirror technique for healing self-worth is a powerful practice. The mirror provides us with the reflection of our own perceptions, and that can be a strong ally along the path to truly loving ourselves.
There is a distorted connotation in the modern West that loving yourself is somehow cheesy. We’ve been conditioned to believe that self-love is selfish and shouldn’t require practice. We are not taught to prioritize loving ourselves. We are not taught how to.
Somehow we’ve allowed ourselves to believe that we aren’t deserving of our own love.
The mirror can help us heal. When we are intentional with honoring and exploring the stories we tell ourselves, we liberate our inner worlds by examining what is and isn’t true. By extension, we create more freedom, cohesion, and peace in the outer world too.
The mirror is an ally. A way to visit with our deepest parts.
5 minutes looking in the mirror every day will change your life
For those of you out there who are ready to awaken your authentic potential and create a next-level life, mirror work is a CRUCIAL ingredient (like the baking soda for manifestation).
Without baking soda, the cupcakes don’t rise fully. They’re deflated and flat. Self-love IS the baking soda for empowered manifestation.
We need to have a healed sense of worthiness to create a basic sense of “I am worthy and deserving of the thing I want.”
Any person who holds any degree of success loves themselves on some level. Self-love that is balanced is one that is confident, humble, aligned with integrity, open to feedback, and non-defensive.
Looking at ourselves with intention in the mirror allows us to self-connect. In order to live robust and dreamy lives, we need to see ourselves clearly. The mirror technique integrates all of the voices in our heads by bringing us home to our authentic self.
How to use the mirror to manifest magic:
1. Find a mirror where you can see yourself clearly.
Clean it if it’s cloudy. This is a potent practice to connect with yourself consciously. Remind yourself of the desires that you’ve been working with throughout this workshop. What specific desires have you been wanting to manifest? Bring them to mind and feel them in your heart.
2. Take a few deep breathes.
Look yourself deeply and directly in the eyes.
(behind your eyes you’ll find your soul and connection to the entire universe)
It’s crucial that you sustain eye contact with yourself. Make sure you’re looking into your eyes the entire time.
3. Start with declarations of love and recognitions of strengths.
While you look in your eyes, call yourself by your name and say “I love you.”
Say it over and over and over. You might even notice you start to feel it so deeply that it becomes, “I really, really love you” or, “I do, I love you so much.”
You can also repeat your strengths and the things you like about yourself. Maybe something like, “You’re such a good person” or “You really love to help others” or “You never give up even when it gets hard.”
Let whatever comes come. This is a true chance for healing, reparation, and release. Ultimately, this practice will anchor you to see yourself clearly. It’s a chance to eliminate distortions, confront possibility, and see the purity of who you are.
Start with declarations of love and recognitions of strengths described on the previous page. Let that move through until you’ve come to a place of feeling its resonance.
4. Then, tell yourself that you are going to receive what you want.
You want to be clear with yourself that you and the divine are one.
That you embrace and accept love.
That you are worthy of receiving what you want.
That your authentic core of truth is implicitly deserving and beautiful.
You are here to co-create your life.
Do your part to take responsibility.
Truly and deeply forgive yourself for past mistakes.
To be your highest self and live your truest next-level life, offer yourself assurance that you are here now.
As you sustain eye contact with yourself, tell yourself that the desires you’ve been materializing are coming, and that you are deserving of receiving them.
Feel into that.
If tears emerge, let them.
Whatever comes, allow it. Witness yourself in all of the places that are expressed.
If any doubt or fear arises, explore that with yourself while you sustain eye contact. Tell yourself that you feel that, that you’re curious about that, and that you will always do the discovery to honor the experience.
Offer yourself validation and empathy (e.g. “Of course, sweetheart. I hear you. I understand.”)
Make sure you assure yourself that you will always strive to do the healing work so that you stay anchored in truth. If fear or doubt arises, it means there’s still a need you have to trust yourself and the path.
Do this practice AT LEAST once a day, for a few minutes. If you can devote more time to it (like morning and evening), even better.
Begin to notice how your life starts to change.
You may notice that people are more attracted to you. Maybe you’ll feel lighter, freer, and more optimistic. Opportunities may come your way with more ease. New enriching connections may enter your life. You may feel more excited and expanded by life.
Stay attuned to the signs you’ll be sent as you continue to do the work to clear yourself of faulty beliefs. Connect to how it feels to truly love, accept, and rely on yourself. This practice is very powerful. I’m excited that you’re experiencing its potency.
